Wild Encounter
Sunrise in Sumatra

Please note due to construction in the Indomalayan Pavilion this encounter will not be running from September 8th - 29th.
Sunrise in Sumatra
Enjoy a peaceful, behind-the-scenes experience in the IndoMalayan Pavilion before the zoo opens to the public. As the rainforest habitat comes to life, you’ll hear the morning calls of white-handed gibbons, laughing thrushes, and hornbills in a calm, quiet setting. With 38 species calling this pavilion home, see how many you can spot during their most active time of day. First, and take part in a special enrichment moment by helping give Jonah, concave casqued hornbill, his morning shower, then, from the public viewing glass, you will also get a look at how our care team shifts the orangutans into their indoor habitat. This early access encounter offers a unique chance to connect with wildlife and experience the zoo in a whole new way
